God loves science geeks.

I love life!

A passion is an intense desire or enthusiasm for something, for me it had been photography and sports, specifically fishing, baseball, snow and water skiing. It was not until after I was divorced, before I begin to see the errors in my passions. I then aligned my passions with my priorities successfully. Faith, family, friends, fishing and then food. Food, fishing and friends may on occasion change positions depending who's cooking and what is being cooked.

My imagination has most often been described as 'out there.' Somewhere. My creative expression with personal interactions, writing and photography is very different then the imagination in my head. The major difference is how others perceive me and who I think I am. I have absolutely no reason too, but I am very insecure (middle child syndrome). The other issue I deal with every second is the result of being an adult with OCD, ADD and dyslexia.

Personal prayer is very important to me and I spend quality time each morning praising God for the things I have and don't deserve. In prayer, I'm not much of an 'asker;' I'm much more of a 'praiser.' I am well aware of just how small and insignificant I truly am when compared to the whole world, but the Creator of all cares about me. He is the ultimate friend and name to drop.

I have always been a man of facts and proof and I am often asked, "How can you believe in God?" My answer is, "I am confident because of a strong faith derived from the fact it makes logical sense to me." How God created the world is not as important as the fact that He did. Even though scientific discovery totally fascinates me. Why He created man is much easier to understand, because we're 'cool.' Faith is very important to me because I can trust God to keep His promises, even-though at times I fail to keep mine.

For me, taking chances was so much more than just a survival characteristic; chance is where the root of my salvation took hold and grew into a mountain of spiritual satisfaction. When it comes to 'thinking outside of the box,' I don't think there is a box.

I'm not an expert, I've never attended college and I don't have anything to sell. I'm just a regular guy that loves being alive, and writing about that love.

God bless,
Dennis

To the "we're right, not you" democrats

I like the fact that Obama is not found in my spell checker, and that I get to select the "Ignore" button to proceed. Obama has his hands full because he has a history of being a professional candidate. A "present" vote from the White House will not help his re-electionion campaign that I believe will start the day after his inauguration. Therefore, he will finally have to show the cards he has been hiding for all these years. Pray! God bless, Dennis

Feel free to judge others

This is a short reply I added to a post about not judging others and being accepting and tolerant of everyone; Ironically, the definition of an opinion is, a judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. For one to accept another without judgement, personal interaction and or prior knowledge must be avoided. If I see something I regard as beautiful, I am making a judgement. If I smell something wonderful, I am making a judgement. If I taste something swee… Continue

Thought Experiment - II

If given an opportunity to go back in your own life and change one decision, what would it be? Before you answer, let us set some rules. When entering that time in your life, you will have no concept of the consequence of the decision, one way or the other. Nor would you be able to know anything beyond what you knew at that time. So basically, you just make a different choice. The other issue is that your life now will be different because you went back. It may be better, it may be worse. You… Continue

Thought Experiment - I

If I were to create a product that filled a worthwhile task and take it to market, people would buy it. Let's also say, that product did in fact performed the task, but not very well. People would still buy it. Then a competitor decides to manufacture a similar product and save what was useful from mine, and redesign it so that it worked better. Put on the market and again, people would buy it. Each generation of the product improves upon the other. Yet there will always be those that have no… Continue

Fears

In my opinion, we often focus too much on our fears associated with danger, but not enough on those from indiscretions. Fears related to sensation are quite different from those based on emotions, and it is the emotional fears that may cause us the most lasting scars. Grabbing the handle on a hot pan leads to knowledge, using a hot pad comes from wisdom. Fears can be found before or after knowledge, but are not often found after wisdom. Assumption can at times replace knowledge, I assume that i… Continue
